Tire Pressure Problems in Winter
Why does your tire pressure warning light keep coming on in winter?
There is a good chance it is not a malfunction of the system. It is probably because it is freezing outside. If you have a car with a Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS); these systems monitor your tires for punctures and pressure losses. Should the tire pressure drop below the TPMS minimum, it will warn you.
The problem with winter is the changing climate causes pressures to drop. Using the formula, PV/T= P2V2/T2, you'll find tires lose about one psi for every ten degrees.
If the TPMS system emits a warning, try refilling your tires and then reset system. There should be directions to reset your system in your owner's manual.
If that doesn't fix the problem, then reach out to Classic Chevy.
New Year Car Resolutions
It's time to start thinking about new year resolutions. Share your resolutions with us on our Facebook page. Our resolutions are below.
1. Take an adventure.
We hope to use our cars more this year to explore - not just drive to work. We want to see new things and roll over new terrains. What about you?
2. Replace the worn tires.
We want to get better about rotating tires to extend their life, and when they are worn replace them. Doing so will help improve fuel efficiency and limit flat tire situations.
3. Watch out for two-wheelers.
Mopeds, motorcycles, and pedal bikers can hide in your blind spots and pop out of nowhere. We're reminding ourselves to continue to be extra cautious.
4. Keep distance.
Driving can be stressful. We're looking to avoid stress by keeping our distance and just cru...
Why Police Fleet Vehicles are Often Chevrolets
Classic Chevrolet values our Houston area community and our safety. Many times police officers are called upon to protect and serve our community and rely on fleet vehicles to do so. But did you know many police vehicles are Chevrolet vehicles?
There are many options for police fleet vehicles and Chevrolet is one of them for many reasons.
Chevrolet vehicles are a solid option to propel officers from call to call. Police Mag reviewed the Chevrolet Tahoe, Impala and Silverado Special Service truck in a recent article.
Chevy's law enforcement lineup for 2016 includes the newly redesigned Tahoe SUV, now available as an automatic four-wheel-drive PPV; the Caprice; the efficient front-wheel-drive Impala; and the Silverado Special Service WT and LS.
Technology features found in the 2016 models inc...
Training Your Dog to Ride in the Car
Dogs who have difficulty with car rides usually fall into one of two categories: those who have motion sickness and those who have a fear of riding in the car. To prevent these problems from happening in the first place, it's best to get dogs accustomed to car rides when they are still puppies.
Puppies, like children, get motion sickness more easily than their elders do, most likely because their inner ear structures that control balance aren't fully developed yet. Many dogs will eventually outgrow the problem, but if your dog starts to drool or vomit when you hit the road, there are some steps that you can take to remedy the situation.
First, limit your dog's food and water intake for a couple of hours before any trip. Lower the car windows a few inches to provide fresh air and to equalize...
The All-New Chevy Sonic
For 2017, the Chevy Sonic has found new life with new colors, new trims and new rims. Orange Burst Metallic, Brimstone, Cajun Red Tintcoat, and Arctic Blue Metallic join the color list.
Drivers will also find they can now choose between 15-inch, 16-inch, or 17-inch wheels as well as four different trim options. The hood, front fascia and headlights received a new design updates too.
The Sonic remains a true city car that comes in a sedan or a hatchback design. Both models are maneuverable, efficient and zippy. It might appear small on the outside, but there is plenty of room to enjoy within. Drivers will find seating for five and 19 cubic feet of cargo space. Rear seats that fold give you more cargo flexibility when life demands it.
As for the engine, a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine comes...
